Arrival Information

Before you arrive on campus:

  1. Discuss with your advisor which courses you should register for: Master's Curiculum, Doctoral Curriculum, Course Schedule.

  2. Set up your Purdue Career Account . Your online admission letter provides the information needed. To activate your career account, you need your Purdue University Identification Number (PUID), which was provided in your online admission decision letter. You will also need an initial account setup PIN. The initial account setup PIN was sent to you by email from the Graduate School's Admissions office after you reviewed your online admission decision letter. Contact gradinfo@purdue.edu with questions.

  3. Schedule your courses at mypurdue.purdue.edu. Instructions on how to enter your courses into the system can be found there. Contact grad-info@cs.purdue.edu with questions.

  4. Pay your fees, if any, by the due date as posted in mypurdue.purdue.edu. If fees are not paid by the due date, you may incur late fees or your registration may be cancelled.

  5. Find Housing. Make sure your utilities will be turned on before you move and update your contact information upon moving using mypurdue.purdue.edu.
  6. Read the Admitted Student Checklist and complete this medical history form. Make sure you fulfill the State of Indiana's immunization requirements.


After you arrive on campus:

  1. Pay your fees with the Bursar's office in Hovde Hall, if you have not already done so.

  2. Obtain your Purdue ID card in Hovde Hall, Room 14.

  3. Set up your access to your CS account.

  4. Make an appointment with your initial advisor.

  5. Participate in the orientation sessions, if joining our program in August.

  6. Sign up for payroll and pick up your health insurance packet at one of the payroll orientation sessions, if you have been offered a fellowship or graduate assistantship. If joining our program in January, see the CS business office in LWSN 3130.

  7. Pick up memos from the graduate secretary in Lawson 1137.

  8. Get your keys from the Building Administrator in LWSN 1151. Incoming PhD students should ask their advisor to request office space from the Assistant Department Head, Randy Bond.

  9. Submit the photo release in the CS Portal.

  10. Submit the LWSN Safety Training in the CS Portal.

  11. Set up your CS Homepage here: http://support.cs.purdue.edu/help/WEB_Pages

  12. Subscribe at https://lists.purdue.edu/mailman/listinfo/cs-colloq, if you wish to receive CS colloquium announcements.
