Beginning at 12:00 AM the undergraduate compute servers (mc[17..21].cs).
will be unavailable for approximately two hours, for system software upgrades.
During this time, mc17.cs.purdue.edu, mc18.cs.purdue.edu, mc19.cs.purdue.edu,
mc20.cs.purdue.edu and mc21.cs.purdue.edu will be unvailable for use.

Beginning at 12:00 AM the undergraduate compute server (data.cs)
will be unavailable for approximately two hours, for system software upgrades.
During this time, data.cs.purdue.edu will be unvailable for use.

TeXLive on Linux hosts has been replaced with a TeXlive module.
Users can use -
module load texlive
to use tex/latex/pdftex/pdflatex/xdvi/dvips, etc.

Beginning at 06:00 AM the ML cluster (ml00.cs)
will undergo a configuration change that will require users to connect with the
campus VPN or use a ssh jump host first.

Beginning at 06:00 AM the departmental DNS server (pendragon.cs)
will be down due to system software upgrades. The downtime should
be approximately one hour. During that time, some users may have
issues with hostname resolution.

Beginning at 09:00 PM the departmental file server (riker.cs)
will be down due to system software upgrades. The downtime should
be approximately one hour. During that time, all home directory
services for undergraduate users will be unavailable.

The WADE power plan chiller has malfunctioned. This has
significantly reduced the ability to cool some academic data
centers, one being MATH B60. CS uses this space for some
research group servers.
These servers were shut down at about 3PM to prevent over heating and damage to the servers.- bandit

Beginning at 10:00 PM the departmental file server (madoc.cs)
will be down due to system software upgrades. The downtime should
be approximately one hour. During that time, all home directory
services for most faculty/staff users will be unavailable.

14 July 2022 — Scheduled Downtime

Beginning at 6:00 PM Science IT staff will be doing
maintenance on the SERVERS domain controllers that will
require that they be down for an extended period of time.
There are two servers -- primary and backup. Only one will be
down at a time, so there should be no interruption in service.
SERVERS is the legacy CS Windows domain. It is only used by a
few machines. Both servers should be returned to service by
8:00 AM July 15.

maintenance on the SERVERS domain controllers that will
require that they be down for an extended period of time.
There are two servers -- primary and backup. Only one will be
down at a time, so there should be no interruption in service.

will be down due to system software upgrades. The downtime should
be approximately one hour. During that time, all web services
will be unavailable.

will be down due to system softwae upgrades. The downtime should
be approximately one hour. During that time, all departmental,
research and course wikis will be unavailable.

ITaP Networking will be performing software updates on campus
network switches in LWSN on Thursday, May 26 between 12:01 AM
and 03:00 AM. During this time there will be disruptions to
wired, wireless, and phone services.
Note: this is part of a campus-wide upgrade from May 18 through June 3. There may be disruptions with connections to other campus buildings and outside Purdue. This time is specific to networks inHAASLWSN.(corrected 5/23/2022)
