17 December 2024 — Scheduled Downtime
-
On December 17-20 outside contractors will be replacing the old and failing UPS units in our main LWSN data center (LWSN 2133). The timing is necessary to get the work done before Purdue shuts down for the winter break. This does mean that many machines will be off-line starting Tuesday morning, December 17.
Note, this is before grades are officially due (grades are due at 5PM, Tuesday, December 17). If you rely on CS systems for any aspect of your grading work please make every effort to have it completed by 5PM on Monday, December 16.
This will have no impact on Purdue IT services such as O365 mailboxes and Purdue career account file space.
We are making arrangements to keep some infrastructure servers and all network switches on-line during this time, but we cannot keep everything on-line. We will endeavor to have the following servers on-line during the work. Some may need to be rebooted as we temporarily move power feeds (older machines that don't have redundant power supplies).
