Dr. Kazemian research interests span the areas of computational biology and immunology to studying gene regulation in viral associated cancers (e.g. EBV and HBV caused tumors), autoimmune disorders (e.g. Rheumatoid Arthritis), and infectious diseases (e.g. COVID-19). His lab utilizes biological assays (single-cell and bulk high-throughput sequencing data) and computational models to identify novel biological pathways, new host-pathogen interactions and regulatory RNAs (e.g. enhancer RNAs and circular RNAs) that could trigger disease.
