Backend Developer Intern
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The software developer intern’s role at Winthrop Capital Management (WCM) is designed to provide high potential candidates with a challenging, meaningful, and supportive opportunity to experience software development in the financial world. The primary focus of the position will be helping with WebWOMBAT™, a proprietary web-based wealth management application that provides a comprehensive solution to investment issues. The position requires a disciplined, organized, and engaged individual who can remain adaptable in an evolving environment. The ideal candidate would have the ability to contribute in a positive manner to our culture by providing and receiving direct feedback, possessing the discipline to hold oneself accountable, and the desire to continually learn.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Implement REST and GraphQL APIs using ASP.NET Core.
•Write unit and integration tests.
•Contribute to CI/CD workflows, containerization, and release automation.
•Collaborate with team members to design, implement, and test new features.
•Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing software.
•Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards.
•Write and maintain technical documentation.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
•Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Git-based workflows
•Familiarity with .NET and ASP.NET Core for web APIs
•Basic knowledge of SQL and data access (e.g. Entity Framework Core)
•Excellent problem-solving skills
•Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally

UI Developer Intern

•Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
•Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
•Work closely with back-end developers to integrate APIs
•Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards.
•Write and maintain technical documentation.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
•Proven experience as a UI Developer with a focus on Angular
•Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
•Experience with version control systems, such as GIT
•Excellent problem-solving skills
•Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
