Harris Social Impact Fellowship at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy

The Fellowship is a selective, full-time, 11-month program for recent graduates and early career professionals with strong STEM backgrounds and a passion for using data and evidence to create measurable social impact.  

Students with computer science, engineering, and data science coursework are highly encouraged to apply.  The first round of applications are due on October 19th .

The fellowship blends intensive academic coursework with a hands-on placement at a research center or policy institute across the university. Fellows receive: 

  • A $75,000 living and healthcare stipend 
  • A $21,000 academic stipend to fully cover the fellowship credential from the Harris School of Public Policy
  • A nine-month applied learning experience with a leading UChicago research center tackling challenges in education, public safety, climate, and government innovation 
  • Ongoing mentorship, professional development, and a strong peer cohort
