Do You Have A Co-op or Internship This Summer? Register for a 0-Credit Course
Do You Have A Co-op or Internship This Summer?
We need your help to work toward becoming the #1 university offering internship and co-op programs. We’re on a mission to document that Purdue has more engineers than any other school participating in internships.
Register for a 0-Credit Course
You can register for a 0-credit course while on internship or co-op and have no fee associated. This holds true for fall and spring semesters as well. This means completing an internship will show up on your Purdue transcript, allowing you to leverage these experiences during your full-time job search or graduate school applications, upon graduation. We are encouraging all Boilermakers to register for the internship or co-op course associated with their experience.
Purdue is ranked the #6 best school for internships & co-op in the country and with your help, we believe we can move closer toward #1!
Why register?
- The experience will be validated by Purdue and will appear on the student’s transcript of record
- Course assignments will help students articulate their growth and create a record of the experience useful for future resumes and interviews
- Students will receive an evaluation from their employer supervisors to aid with professional development
- Students who enroll in an internship course may be able to pursue a co-op certificate should the length of their internship be extended or if they accept future work experiences with their internship employer. More information on the co-op program can be found here.
- Students pursuing industry certificates in semiconductors or pharmaceutical manufacturing are required to register for their internship experience in order for the experience to count towards the certificate.
- Students registering for their internship will assist Purdue in collecting information about the internship experience. Data collected related to salary and benefits will be useful to all future students when negotiating salary with their internship employers. Students will also have the opportunity to rate their work experiences and this information will be shared with prospective students.
