50 Years of Purdue Computer Science

Thank you for visiting us! We are proud to have celebrated 50 years of computer science at Purdue University. The nation's first Computer Science Department was founded here in October of 1962. While 50 years has passed quickly, the numerous accomplishments of the department, its faculty, alumni, and friends were not allowed to slip by without acknowledgement. It was with this sentiment that we celebrated a historic, accomplished 50 years.

Closing Celebration on Friday, April 5, 2013

Thank you to all who joined us at the closing celebration of our 50th year as a department on Friday, April 5, 2013. We welcomed our alumni and friends as well as their families to the Lawson Computer Science Building (305 N. University St., West Lafayette).
