CS Faculty and Staff Honored by College of Science

On Thursday, February 21, 2013, the Purdue University College of Science held its annual Faculty and Staff Awards Program, at which several Computer Science faculty and staff members were recognized.

The program was held in the Purdue Memorial Union's South Ballroom and included a luncheon.

Development Secretary Patricia Morgan and Facilities Manager Ron Castongia were each recognized for their 25 years of service. Steve Plite (Facilities Unix Systems Administration) was recognized for 15 years of service, and outgoing Outreach Coordinator Mindy Hart was recognized for 10.

Computer Science faculty honored included Associate Professors Cristina Nita-Rotaru and Dongyan Xu and Professor Jan Vitek, who each received a Leadership Award. The research team of Professor Jan Vitek, Ananth Grama, and Suresh Jagannathan received a Team Award.

Computer Science staff honored included Graduate Office Coordinator Renate Mallus-Medot, Facilities and Network Administrator Dan Trinkle, and Facilities Hardware and Network Engineer Brian Board who each received a Customer Service Award.

Several staff of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS) were honored as well. Recognized for their years of service were Randy Bond (15), Lori Floyd (15), Joel Rasmus (10), and Keith Watson (10). Watson was also honored with a Leadership Award.
