This program is the a 9-credit sequence that satisf ies
the coursework for the cer tif icate. The cer tif icate also
requires 350 clinical hours throughout four categories:
- Traditional Classroom (direct STEM teaching
in 5-12 settings)
- Informal Education (museums, zoos,
community outreach)
- Extended Academics (summer programs,
camps)
- Mentorship & Professional Development
(observations, co-planning, TA roles,
conferences)


Fast track to impact:
Begin with a 1-credit introduction course as the
on-ramp for the SPRINT program to help decide if this
path is right for you. Then complete 8 additional
creditswith clinical experience to reward yourself with
a teaching cer tif icate!
- Practice effective STEM teaching using
proven, research-based models.
- Elicit students' ideas in STEM through
purposeful questioning, writing, and
discussion.
- Design and deliver STEM lessons that use
active learning.
- Evaluate STEM teachingmethodologies and
when they work best.

industry training, formal classrooms, and
