FIRST LEGO League (FLL) & Mentorship
The Robotics Initiative supports K–12 robotics engagement through mentorship, outreach, and connections to programs such as FIRST LEGO League (FLL).
This work helps expand access to robotics experiences while providing meaningful opportunities for students to explore problem-solving, teamwork, and computer science in action.
Supporting Robotics Teams
I work to support schools and students involved in FIRST LEGO League by helping connect them with resources, guidance, and mentorship opportunities.
This may include:
- helping schools get started with robotics teams
- supporting existing teams through outreach and connections
- connecting educators with resources and guidance
- building pathways for continued student engagement in robotics

Purdue Student Mentorship
A key part of this work includes connecting Purdue students with K–12 robotics teams.
Through mentorship, Purdue students help:
- guide teams through challenges
- support problem-solving and design thinking
- encourage persistence and collaboration
- serve as relatable role models in STEM
These connections create meaningful learning experiences for both K–12 students and Purdue mentors.

Why This Matters
Programs like FIRST LEGO League provide students with opportunities to engage in hands-on, team-based learning that builds both technical and interpersonal skills.
By supporting and expanding access to these experiences, the Robotics Initiative helps more students see themselves as capable problem-solvers and future participants in STEM fields.

Connecting Classrooms and Competition
Robotics teams can serve as a powerful extension of classroom learning.
This work helps bridge the gap between:
- classroom robotics and real-world application
- individual learning and team-based problem-solving
- early exposure and long-term interest in computing and engineering
Get Involved
If your school is interested in starting a robotics team, strengthening an existing team, or connecting with Purdue student mentors, I would be glad to help.
