Purdue CS student athletes honored as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

Brennan Doyle and Ian Hunter, Purdue CS alumni and spring semester student athletes recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars

 

Two Purdue CS alumni continued to make the grade as student athletes where they were recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for their excellence in the classroom.

 

Brennan Doyle and Ian Hunter were two of the sixty-five Boilermakers who earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar recognition for their academic excellence during the 2022-23 school year.

Student-athletes across the conference were recognized as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for achieving grade-point averages of 3.70 and better during the completed school year.

Brennan Doyle, a member of Purdue University's wrestling team, earned his bachelor degree in computer science in 2023. Doyle was in the Systems Programming & Security track. He also earned Big Ten Distinguished Scholar status in 2021 and 2022. 

Ian Hunter earned his bachelor degrees from Purdue in 2022. He graduated with triple majors in computer science, actuarial science, and applied statistics. Now, pursuing a master's degree in statistics, Hunter continues as a member of the Purdue University Cross Country team. Hunter received Big Ten Distinguished Scholar recognition for his academic excellence during the 2021-22 school year.
