Over $245,000 in Awards Were Announced at the 12th Annual CS Awards Banquet

Jim Early, the 2003-04 Intel PhD Fellowship recipient, and Dennis Brylow, the 2004 Halstead Award recipient, share the evening with Elisa Bertino (CS faculty and Director for Research CERIAS), Early, Petra Eccarius (graduate student), Brylow, and Mary Jo Bartolacci (Interim Director of Advancement School of Science).

The Department of Computer Sciences held its 12th Annual CS Awards Banquet on April 19, 2004, in the South Ballroom of the Purdue Memorial Union. Over $245,000 in new awards and the continuation of existing awards were announced. Keynote speaker, Anne Schowe, School of Science Alumna & former Vice President of Sun Microsystems, addressed an audience of over 200 corporate representatives, students, faculty, staff, and parents.

We would like to thank the following donors for their generous donations to our incoming freshman: Guidant Foundation ($20,000), Boeing Company ($15,000), Microsoft Corporation ($10,000), Winifred Rosen ($10,000), Dave & Darla Dodson ($2,500), Lockheed Martin ($2,000), and Linnea Cook & Pieter Dykema ($2,000).
