I am a professor at the Department of Computer Science
at Purdue University.
I am also a member of CERIAS (the Center for
Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security).
My current research interests lie in the areas of network
architectures and protocols, specifically
network measurement and management, network security,
network simulation and testbeds, and wireless and sensor networks. Click here for a two-page resume (PDF), and click here for a biography. |
Our current research projects are funded by the National Science Foundation.
Prior projects have been funded by
the Department of Homeland Security, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard,
Northrop Grumman Corp, Raytheon/BBN, the Schlumberger Foundation,
the Purdue Research Foundation, and CERIAS.
Research
(1) Cloud and virtualization: We are designing placement and scaling strategies for virtualized network functions, and algorithms for efficient data center and cloud management;
(2) Network experimentation and security: We are
developing methodologies and benchmarks for network evaluation, including security mechanisms for VoIP and multimedia services. Click
here for the project web page,
here for benchmarking project web page,
and
here for an article about the NG Consortium;
(3) Network measurement and management: We are
inferring and learning information about network topology, availability, bottlenecks, bandwidth,
latency, and loss, and exploiting this information for adapting and managing networks and applications.
Click here for our GENI project web page;
(4) Wireless networks: We are designing routing and diagnosis protocols for wireless and sensor networks.
