  • 06/2018 Three papers accepted at MobiCom’18: CEIVE (callee-only solution against caller ID spoofing), multi-carrier access stability (resolving multi-carrier policy conflicts) and ChromaCode (Imperceptible Screen-Camera Communication).

  • 05/2018 One paper accepted at SIGCOMM’18: MPTCP measurement over high-speed rails.

  • 03/2018 Received NSF CAREER Award. The CAREER project aims to amplify intelligence in cellular networks.

  • 12/2017 I gave a tutorial (Tutorial 21) to verify mobile network operations on your phones via MobileInsight on 14:00-17:30PM, Friday, Dec 8, 2017 at GlobeCom’17, Singarpore.   • 06/2017 MobileInsight 3.0 has been officially released!

  • 06/2017 DPCM and Tick accepted by MobiCom’17. DPCP has proposed a brand-new perspective to reduce latency in every cellular network connection establishment and maintenance. Tick has enabled low-latency SDR after 3-year development efforts from the UCLA and PKU team. Congratulations to authors and so many developers in both projects!

  • 04/2017 MobileInsight Tutorial has been accepted by GLOBECOM’17. I will give a tutorial on in-device mobile network monitoring and diagnosis at Singapore, Dec, 2017.

  • 04/2016 We make a public release MobileInsight, an in-device tool to monitor and analyze cellular network behaviors. This is a joint project between UCLA WiNG and OSU MSSN Labs.

  • 03/2016 We released HackCellular, an all-in-one attack demo, which allows you to replay several attacks identified in our recent research (e.g., TTL data overcharging attack, ping-pong attack, no 4G attack). Source codes will be found here. It will be fun to Do-It-Yourself and learn real threats in real networks. Surely, please attack your own phone only!

  • 08/2015 Two papers on insecurity of voice solutions in 4G LTE networks at CNS’15 and CCS’15; We have reported the identified problems to two US carriers and Google. Their validation and fixes are ongoing.

  • 11/2014 I presented our work of “real threats to mobile data bills” at CCS’14. Here is the slide. We are proud and excited that we worked with US carriers and they have taken immediate actions to upgrade their networks. Initial fix is in place now!
