Top Ten Teacher in the Purdue University School of Science, 2003-2004

The juniors and seniors in the School of Science (now the College of Science) selected the Top Ten Teachers of 2003-2004. They were determined by Purdue's Science Student Council based upon student votes and accompanying comments. See the news story from the CS department.

MAA Polya Award, 2004

The annual George Pólya Award is presented by the Mathematical Association of America to authors of articles of expository excellence that appear in The College Mathematics Journal. The award recognized my article, "A New Wrinkle on an Old Folding Problem," which appeared in the September 2003 issue. Most Inspiring Faculty Member, 2006

The Graduate Student Board, a service organization of Computer Science graduate students at Purdue, made the selection of the Most Inspiring Faculty Member in 2006. See the news story from the CS department.

Purdue Book of Great Teachers, 2008

The Book of Great Teachers, a permanent wall display in the west foyer of the Purdue Memorial Union, bears the names of past and present faculty members who have devoted their lives to excellence in teaching and scholarship. They were chosen by their students and their peers as Purdue's finest educators. The nomination process for inclusion in this book is repeated every five years.
