Research

• Current research projects include:
  (1) Internet tomography: We are inferring information about network topology, shared bottlenecks, bandwidth, latency, and loss, and exploiting this information for constructing, monitoring, and controlling overlay networks;
  (2) Network security evaluation: We are developing methodologies and benchmarks for network security evaluation, including VoIP and multimedia services.   (3) Wireless networks: We are designing scheduling, power management, and routing protocols for heterogeneous wireless networks and sensor networks.

  Our research is funded by the National Science Foundation, Hewlett-Packard, and the Schlumberger Foundation. Prior projects have been funded by the Department of Homeland Security and the Purdue Research Foundation.
