Inferring fine-scale individual ancestry around the world
(P. Paschou, J. Lewis, A. Javed, and P. Drineas)
The decision tree
We
propose small panels of Ancestry Informative Markers (AIMs) that may be
used
to infer fine-scale individual ancestry around the world based on the
Human Genome Diversity Panel (HGDP) genotypic data. At each node of the
decision tree we propose various panels of markers
that - using a Nearest Neighbors approach - can accurately assign
an individual to one of the child nodes. (See also Figure 1 in our
manuscript.)
