Proof of Reputation Blockchain

Proof of reputation

Reputation is the cornerstone of modern e-society, but it is also its Achilles' heel. This research thread, which is supported by blockchain startup Sunday Group, Incorporated, via the Möbby blockchain project, aims to improve reputation on the Internet by utilizing the novel Proof-of-Reputation paradigm: Parties that maintaining the blockchain are chosen according to their reputation. A party's reputation is in-turns based on how reliable this party is, are according to the system's users (and more general Internet users). High-reputation parties are rewarded with a sophisticated mechanism that incentivizes maintaining and improving one's reputation, while ensuring egalitarianism, and fairness in the access of the relevant resources.

The generous funding from Sunday Group helped seed the PuB and we are working in tandem with the UCLA Connection Lab, our sister lab at UCLA led by Prof. Leonard Kleinrock, one of the Fathers of the Internet, towards a joint mission to return the Internet to its founding principles of egalitarianism and transparency.
