The following method is used to arrive at the final project grade for each student:
- The project grade is computed for each team out of a total of 50. The distribution of 50 points is as indicated on the CS 49000 site under Evaluation. Each student on a team is assigned the same grade.
- Based on the feedback provided by team members and team leaders, and data on meeting minutes, an Individual Contribution Index (ICI) is computed. The ICI varies from a high of 1 (highest relative contribution) to 0 (no contribution).
- The final project grade of each student is multiplied by her/his ICI to obtain the effective grade in the project. For example, if the grade obtained in step 1 is 50 and your ICI is 0.7 then your project grade is 50x0.7=35. It is this revised grade that is used in computing your overall course grade out of 100.
