Sponsor Commitment

  • A company sponsoring a project in the CS 406 class will designate one of its employees to serve as the contact point for the project. This employee is referred to as 406 Sponsor or simply Sponsor.
  • The sponsor will provide the Requirements Specification document to the instructor as per the schedule. The document must be in any one of the following formats: WORD, a pdf, or a postscript. The instructor will review the document and after any subsequent edits by the Sponsor, place the document on the CS 406 web site.
  • The Sponsor will visit Purdue on August 21, 2001 or August 23, 2001 and give a 30 minute in-class presentation of the requirements. Subsequent visits by the Sponsor are optional.
  • The Sponsor will ensure that he/she or a suitable designee participates in the Video Conference as per the schedule. There are approximately 10 video conference sessions in CS 406. Each session lasts for 15-30 minutes. The sponsoring company pays for the call.
  • The Sponsor will respond in a timely manner to email requests from groups working on the project sponsored by him/her. It is estimated that a Sponsor spends an average of at most one hour per week attending to issues related to CS 406.
  • If students from CS 406 move to CS 407 or CS 490D, the Sponsor will continue to supervise the project until the end of Spring 2002 as in CS 406.
