Reach Out for Computer Science
The Computer Science Department and the College of Science at Purdue University supports a unique program called Reaching Out for Computer Science (ROCS). ROCS is made up of a group of computer science students who want to share their experiences and knowledge of computer science. The group will focus on students from kindergarten to 12th grade in the state of Indiana and surrounding areas. These Purdue University students help school administrators, teachers, and students understand what a career in computer science is all about. The ROCS presentation is a fun and interactive way for computer science students to relate their interests and experiences.
The ROCS program at Purdue University is widely known around the Midwest and throughout the nation. In 2007, ROCS was featured in the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing sponsored by the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology in Orlando, FL. More information can be found at the official ROCS website.
Thanks to all the Corporate Partners for their continuing support of our program!
