A postdoctoral researcher position is available at Purdue University in the area of software security and program analysis. The researcher will be involved in a project that aims at developing advanced reverse engineering techniques to identify and extract functional components from x86 binary programs. Our project provides an open, creative research environment with opportunities to work with a team of motivated and supportive members, publish research results at top-tier conferences, and develop prototypes for realistic evaluation and demonstration. Requirements include: (1) A Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering; (2) Evidence of research creativity, self-motivation, and record. (3) Experience with binary program analysis, specifically for x86 platforms. Any of the following would be a plus: (1) Research background in computer systems security; (2) Experience with compilers and main-stream program analysis tools; (3) Experience with system programming for Linux or Windows; This position is for 1.5 years with an earliest starting time of December 2011 and possibility of renewal for another 1.5 years, based on performance and fund availability.
