About Me
I received my PhD degree at the Department of Computer Science, Purdue University in 2014. My advisors are Prof. Charles Killian and Prof. Cristina Nita-Rotaru. I am a member of DS2 lab. Before I join Purdue, I received the BS and MS degree in computer engineering from Hongik University, Korea, and my master thesis advisor was Prof. Sam H. Noh.

My research interest includes various topics in distributed systems and operating systems. Currently, I am working on developing automatic techniques to discover possible attacks from distribute systems implementations.

To make distributed systems robust against attacks, typically the first task is finding possible attacks for a target distributed systems. Once we think of attack scenarios, we manually implement the attacks to see the effect then finally we start to work on defense mechanism. The first two tasks are very painstaking process due to the complexity of distributed systems implementations. I want to automate the process to find possible attacks, without asking a lot of effort from the user so that they can focus on protecting the system. I focus on implementations because at the end of the day, what you run is your implementation and it is often not the same to your design.
