There are indications that the author of the Interlocks manuscript (the first entry under `Anonymous') is Abu Bakr Al-Khalil Al-Tajir Al-Rasadi. The case is made in the 2017 book published by Brill, The Arts of Ornamental Geometry: A Persian Compendium on Similar and Complementary Interlocking Figures. A Volume Commemorating Alpay Ozdural, in which a contributor is listed: Gülru Necipoglu.
