In the last three lessons we have looked at some of the numerical, symbolic,
and visual aspects of Mathematica. In this lesson we will bring all of these tools
to bear upon solving two representative problems. Along the way we will
explore a few new aspects of Mathematica.
Keep in mind as we go along that the point of learning Mathematica is not so we
can ``do'' Mathematica; it is so we can use Mathematica to solve problems. Solving a
problem using Mathematica requires, above anything else, understanding the underlying
mathematics of the problem. Otherwise, we cannot pose sensible questions to
Mathematica and we cannot interpret its answers.
