View Mathematica notebook files using Netscape?

Here are step-by-step instructions on how to configure your Netscape browser to view Mathematica notebook files by invoking Mathematica:

  1. Select the General Preferences item from the Option menu
  2. Click on the Helpers tab
  3. Click on the New... button
  4. In the Description field, type: Mathematica Notebooks
  5. In the Type field, type: application/mathematica
  6. In the Suffix field, type: ma
  7. In the Handle By area, click the button next to Application and type in that field n:\dos\wnmath22\mathmaf.exe
  8. Click on the OK button
  9. That's it!
Unfortunately, due to the configuration of the PCs in LAEB B286, you may have to do this each time you come in .. the machines restore the original configuration when you log out! ARGH.
