Profile Editor Tutorial

The tutorial provides a hands-on guide to running a profile editor which is based on a two-dimensional constraint solver. First, the methods available to access the profile editor are discussed. Then the various input mechanisms are described, including input of geometric entities, both primary and auxiliary, and constraints. We explain the viewing operations available in the display window, and we then detail the editing capabilities. Next we present the menu operations. We then discuss some of the intricacies of constraint assignment. Subsequently, we demonstrate the solution selection and modification techniques available. Finally, we conclude with a more complex example.

We assume throughout the tutorial that the reader is running the profile editor, either locally or remotely. Instructions to create or modify drawings should be executed in the active profile editor, not in the still pictures provided for comparison of results.
