<body> <h2>Hyperfile: A Database Manager for Documents</h2> <p> HyperFile incorporates conventional database and hypertext ideas into a database for documents and other loosely-structured information. HyperFile operates as a <em>server</em>; users access the database through different <em>application</em> programs. Applications communicate with the server through a query language. This languages supports a style of search similar to the browsing model of hypertext, without requiring the repeated user interactions of browsing. Work on a distributed HyperFile is presented.
