André Bondi

André Bondi has been the Director, System Performance at Leapstone Systems since 2002. Prior to that, he worked at Hudson Williams, a web performance consulting company in New York, and was a Principal Technical Staff Member in the Network Design and Performance Analysis Department at AT&T Labs, Middletown, NJ. Dr. Bondi earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1984 and before that an M.Sc. in Statistics from University College London. Before joining AT&T (Bell) Labs in 1987, he was an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara. A Performance Engineering Perspective

Eric Dittert

Eric Dittert is a member of the staff in the Emerging Platforms Lab of the Corporate Technology Group at Intel Corporation. Since joining Intel in 1988, he has led advanced development projects in system management software and software development tools and programming systems. Prior to joining Intel, Eric was a member of the faculty of the Computer Science Department at New Mexico State University. Eric received his PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1982 and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Arizona State University in 1976.

Alan Hevner

Alan Hevner is an Eminent Scholar and Professor in the Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department in the College of Business Administration at the University of South Florida. He holds the Salomon Brothers/Hidden River Corporate Park Chair of Distributed Technology. Dr. Hevner's areas of research interest include information systems development, software engineering, distributed database systems, healthcare information systems, and telemedicine. He has published over 100 research papers on these topics and has consulted for a number of Fortune 500 companies. Dr. Hevner received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1979. He has held faculty positions at the University of Maryland and the University of Minnesota. Dr. Hevner is a member of ACM, IEEE, AIS, and INFORMS. Health Care Data Warehousing

Kevin Kahn

Kevin Kahn is an Intel Fellow (the corporation's highest technical position) in the Corporate Technology Group and Director, Communications and Interconnect Technology. He also coordinates Intel's participation in various relevant standards bodies and consortia and chairs the Intel Communications Research Council. He currently serves on the FCC Technological Advisory Council, chairs the National Science Foundation's Engineering Advisory Council, and serves on various academic advisory committees. He received his Ph.D. and Master's degrees in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1976 and 1973, and his Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Manhattan College in 1972. The Purdue University School of Science awarded him its Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1995.

Dave Schrader

Dave Schrader is the lead Strategist and one of the Marketing Directors for NCR's Teradata Applications Solutions group. He works with NCR's various industry marketing organizations in the Retail, Financial, Insurance, Travel, Transportation, Government, and Manufacturing sectors. Dave joined NCR in 1991. Before that, he worked at Digital Equipment Corporation in the Database Engineering group on distributed databases, and also worked at Servio Corporation as the Engineering Manager for the GemStone object-oriented database product. Schrader received his PhD in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1983, has published several technical papers, and holds 2 patents.

Douglas Comer, Moderator

Douglas Comer is an internationally recognized expert on computer networking and the TCP/IP protocols. He served as chairman of the CSNET technical committee, chairman of the DARPA Distributed Systems Architecture Board, and was a member of the Internet Activities Board (the group of researchers who built the Internet). He is well-known for his series of ground breaking textbooks on computer networks, the Internet, and computer operating systems. His books have been translated into eleven languages, and are widely used in both industry and academia. For over fifteen years, Doug has served as North American editor of the research journal Software-Practice and Experience, which is published by John Wiley & Sons.
