For the remainder of this book we will make the assumption that our reader is using a PC with a Microsoft Windows (Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows NT, or Windows XP) operating system. But, because of the nature of the Internet, nearly all of what we say from here on will still be applicable even for those of you using a Macintosh or a Sun workstation or virtually any other platform.
Pages 42-46: All the references on these pages to "Windows 95/98" apply as well to "Windows 95/98/2000/NT." Also, as far as we can tell right now these will also apply to the new Windows XP operating system being introduced in fall of 2001 by Microsoft.
