Sponsor Commitment

• A company sponsoring a project in the CS 490M class will designate one of its employees to serve as the contact point for the project.This employee is referred to as 490M Sponsor or simply Sponsor.
• The sponsor will provide the Requirements Specification document to the instructor as per the schedule. Click here to know about the types of projects. The document must be in any one of the following formats: WORD, pdf. The instructor will review the document and after any subsequent edits by the Sponsor, place the document on the this web site.
• [Optional] The Sponsor will be offered an opportunity to visit the class and explain the project to the students in about 30 minutes. The visitation must be on any one of the following days: August 21, 23, 25, 2006. Subsequent visits by the Sponsor can also be arranged. Such visits are generally useful for assessing student progress. This could also be done via video conferencing as per the schedule.
• The Sponsor will ensure that he/she or a suitable designee participates in a Video or a Teleconference as per the schedule. Three conference sessions are scheduled. Each session for a team lasts for 15-30 minutes. The sponsoring company pays for the call.
• The Sponsor will respond in a timely manner to email requests from groups working on the project sponsored by him/her. It is estimated that a Sponsor spends an average of at most one hour per week attending to issues related to CS 490M.
• Advantages to the sponsor: (a) Identify potential hires. (b) Get your technology into the classroom. (c) Enhance your relationship with CS/Purdue.
• There is no financial obligation on either side.
