Technicolor Intern Opportunities Summer 2022

  • Pursuing a Bachelor/Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Design, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree
  • 0-4 years relevant experience, includes class, project, intern and/or co-op experiences
  • Understanding of using test equipment such as Digital Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, DC Power supplies, Network Analyzer, Signal Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers etc.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, presentation, and organizational skills

Job Title: Hardware Engineering Intern

Position Summary:   The Hardware Engineer Intern will be responsible for working with various engineering and project teams to design, troubleshoot, modify, and run qualification testing various electrical equipment under development, such as Cable, DSL and Fiber Gateways, Wifi Extenders.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design, test and troubleshoot circuits forvarious electrical equipment
  • Select and assess suitability and reliability of electronic components
  • Maintain product documentation
  • Interact with Application, Software, and other Electronic Engineers to meet customer/system requirements of hardware designs
  • Prototype electronic circuits and document measurements and results
  • Review and evaluate electrical documentation (schematics, assembly drawings, BOM, PCB layouts, etc.)
  • Assist other members of the hardware group and/or project teams

Job Title: Firmware Engineering Intern

Position Summary:   The Firmware Engineering Intern will be part of the hardware engineering group and responsible for supporting the team in developing test scripts, test automation software, testing and debug of device application software and support of hardware engineers with software setting changes in device firmware

 Major Responsibilities:

  • Design test scripts and automation for testing of electrical systems
  • Support Hardware engineers in building and loading firmware into gateway products
  • Evaluate and document necessary changes
  • Be a liaison to the greater SW team in documenting and communicating necessary changes discovered by the Hardware team
  • Maintain product documentation
  • Interact with Application, Software, and other Electronic Engineers to meet customer/system requirements of hardware designs
  • Support proof of concept ideas from a firmware point of view in developing embedded SW for various microprocessros
  • Assist other members of the hardware group and/or project teams

 

 

Job Title: Hardware Architecture Engineering Intern

Position Summary:   The Hardware Architecture Engineering Intern will be responsible for working with hardware and product management teams in developing architecture, part evaluations, project documentation, cost estimates and tools for various products such as IOT, Cable, DSL and Fiber Gateways, Wifi Extenders.

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop block diagrams and floorplans
  • Compare and evaluate various electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical parts
  • Select and assess suitability and reliability of electronic components
  • Maintain product documentation
  • Interact with other Engineers to complete assigned tasks
  • Develop and put together proof of concept hardware and firmware designs
  • Review and evaluate electrical documentation (schematics, assembly drawings, BOM, PCB layouts, etc.)
  • Help develop project management tools for evaluating cost, effort and schedules of projects and portfolio
  • Help develop tools for evaluating the practicality of thermal designs
  • Assist other members of the hardware group, product management and/or project teams

Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Intern

Position Summary:   The Mechanical Engineering Intern be responsible for working with various engineering and project teams to design, troubleshoot, modify, and run qualification testing various equipment under development, such as Cable, DSL and Fiber Gateways, Wifi Extenders.

 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • 3D design of plastic and metal parts for Technicolor Connected home products to meet the product requirements in terms of functions, performance, manufacturing, quality, as well as cost.
  • Analyzing/solving mechanical related problems, concerns/questions.
  • Creating 3D models of electrical parts
  • Supporting the validation of the mechanical parts at single part level as well as system level.
  • Participating to the electromechanical tests in close cooperation with the hardware development team.
  • Prototype enclosures and thermal solutions
  • Guarantee the quality (completion of the clear specifications, respect of the design rules, characterization report) of the deliverables linked to his/her tasks.
  • Produce documentation related to assigned tasks
  • Assist other members of the hardware group and/or project teams
