We are seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with early-stage feasibility research
for an innovative health application. This role will focus on signal processing and
machine learning techniques applied to health data, as well as rapid prototyping of
research tools and libraries.
Join our cross-functional and multi-disciplinary team to create extraordinary features in
the emerging and dynamic consumer health field.
Key Qualifications

particularly for physiological data (e.g., PPG, ECG, IMU).
• Experience in biomedical data preprocessing, including filtering, artifact removal,
and feature extraction.
• Understanding of biomedical engineering principles, including human physiology
and the mechanisms behind physiological signals.
• Knowledge of advanced machine learning techniques, particularly applied to
physiological signals.
• Solid Python programming skills, with experience in writing clean, efficient, and
well-documented code.
• Proficient in common machine learning and signal processing packages (e.g.,
SciPy, NumPy, Pandas, PyTorch).
• Skilled in ingesting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets, generating insights,
and communicating findings effectively.
• Great data visualization skills using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly.
• Most importantly, enthusiastic about learning and applying new technologies and
methods in a rapidly evolving field.

Description
Are you comfortable being hands-on with data collection and digging deep into the
numbers to prove your work!
As an intern, you will
• Develop code to process collected physiological signals, extract features,
discover meaningful relationships, and train machine learning models
• Distill and interpret findings to inform sensor and algorithm design, to prove (or
disprove") different feature or product concepts, and to identify new product
opportunities that will make meaningful impact on Apple customers
• Present data so that results are clear and unbiased. Familiarity with data
visualization tools and basic statistics is essential
• Consult literature, absorb new information, and learn new tools quickly as tasks
and projects require.

Education
Currently enrolled in an advanced degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science,
Electrical Engineering or related field
Additional Requirements
• Be available for 6-12 months
• You will thrive in our fast-paced environment if you are highly organized and able
to multitask.
• Flexible thinking, adaptability to change and comfort with ambiguity are
hallmarks of successful people on our team.
