Description

As Web Developer and Content Specialist, you will support and maintain existing departmental web sites and web applications as well as create, update and deploy new web sites and web tools to meet departmental needs. You will also create new templates to support departmental course web pages, faculty web pages, and research group web sites. Additionally, you will assist faculty and instructors in deploying and supporting course web pages. Also, you will work with other staff in the development of new content for web presence. You will utilize your knowledge to ensure compliance with all applicable standards and University policies. Finally, you will provide technical expertise to solve novel problems in the development and deployment of new content.

Qualifications

Required:
• Associate's degree with emphasis in Computer Science, Electrical Computer Engineering, or closely related.
• Two years' experience creating and maintaining web content or web based integration of embedded platforms..
• Working knowledge of current web design trends with ability to create, support and maintain active content sites.
• Working knowledge of web security, html, CSS, Javascript, and PHP.
• Working knowledge of database programming and database integration.
• Working knowledge of design standards for mobile devices.
• Ability to convert content into web formatted items.
• Valid driver's license.
Preferred:
• Working knowledge of Zope framework.
• Knowledge of section 508 compliance.
• Knowledge of web/application development and integration on embedded computer platforms such as the Raspberry PI.
• Knowledge of one or more of these languages: Java, Python, C/C++, Ruby, PERL, PHP, Javascript.
• Experience working with one or more of the following database servers:
MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL.
• Experience providing system support.
• Ability to work in a UNIX environment.
