IT Security and Policy Hiring Students

Looking for a part-time job in IT for Fall semester? ITaP’s IT Security and Policy group is looking to hire a couple of students that want to gain skills in computer security incident response. More about the position:

IT Security Operator

Job Duties

·         Assist the department (ITSP Information Security Services) in routine operational responsibilities, such as incident response and analysis, policy violations and others.

·         Quickly assessing and filtering incident information from a variety of sources

·         Writing accurate and concise communications

·         Work in conjunction with other ITaP functions to provide support regarding IT security questions, concerns, and issues, professionally responding to customer feedback and inquiries.

·         Opportunity to develop, improve, and maintain existing tools, processes and procedures.


Required Skills

·         Security methodologies and familiarity with security tools (firewalls, anti-virus, etc.).

·         Customer service skills.

·         Documentation skills.

·         Experience or interest in security topics such as firewalling, log analysis, software development, and similar topics is highly desirable

·         Hours/Week: ~ 9-12 hours/week

·         Pay: $12.00/hour

·         Start Date: Beginning of Fall 2019 semester. Preference to students who can continue work during Spring and Summer semesters as well.
