Dr. Yang in EAPS Dept Seeking Undergraduate Researcher
Dr. Xiaotao Yang’s group at the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences is recruiting an undergraduate researcher to help parallelize a Fortran code for LSQR operations (least square QR factorization for solving inversion of sparse matrix). The aim is to make the code scalable for large matrices (200Gb+) using multiple processors on HPC clusters. The position is available in fall 2023 and, potentially, continues to spring 2024.
Students with skills and experiences in Fortran programming and algorithm parallelization are encouraged to contact Dr. Yang (xtyang@purdue.edu). To apply for this opportunity, please send your resume and transcript (unofficial) to xtyang@purdue.edu. In the email, please describe your experience in computer programming and availability (number of hours available for the project). Interviews will be scheduled for selected applicants.
