Purdue University - Department of Computer Science - Invitation: Technology & Social Impact @ United Nations

Invitation: Technology & Social Impact @ United Nations

It is my pleasure to invite Purdue University to be part of the “Unite Ideas” movement. We are a community of people from around the world who are working together to build open-source software and solve data science problems for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Faculty and students who join this initiative will be able to collaborate online globally with technologists, designers, data scientists, and other creative minds to build open-source technology for governments, NGOs, and United Nations entities.

We are seeking professors willing to engage their students and independent graduate and undergraduate students who can build solutions to respond to 8 challenges, which use blockchain, mobile and web applications, image recognition, data science, natural language processing, and virtual reality.

These challenges aim to create tools for applications impacting education of refugees, international diplomacy, human and wildlife health, cybersecurity, sustainable cities and construction, people displacement, open-data, and analytics of armed conflict data.
