Seeking Participants for Neuro-Cyber Study

My name is Dr. Kelly Cole. Dr. Francis and I are running a neuro-cyber study in Lyles Porter. We are looking for participants with IDS experience to participate.

Cognitive factors in cybersecurity (neuro-cyber study)

Researchers are seeking participants with a least a year of work experience in SIEM and/or intrusion detection systems to participate in a research study investigating some of the cognitive abilities that may be of importance when defending a computer network.

Individuals will come to the lab in Lyles-Porter Hall to participate. The study requires answering a short questionnaire assessing experience in network/cybersecurity and other demographic variables. Qualified participants will also complete a series of simple cognitive tasks, along with a cyber task, which includes classifying attacks in a simulated network environment. The entire session should take about 60 minutes, including a few short breaks. Participants who complete the study will be compensated with a $50 Amazon gift card.

Those qualified and interested in participating in this study should contact Alexander Francis, professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, at francisa@purdue.edu. IRB#: 1703018965.
