Declared CS Minors, MACS Majors and IMCS Majors - access to CS courses

Effective Spring 2019

For declared CS minors, MACS majors IMCS majors access will be given if space is available and will be limited to student's 5 required CS courses.

CS 18000:

Space will be available for non-CS majors during off-peak semesters (spring & summer).

CS 18200, CS 24000 and CS 25200:

Declared CS minors, MACS majors and IMCS majors will be given access during time ticket registration during off-peak semesters (fall & summer). Non-CS students should not submit a request for Spring semester.

CS 25000 and CS 25100:

Declared CS minors, MACS majors and IMCS majors will be given access during time ticket registration during off-peak semesters (spring & summer). Non-CS students should not submit a request for Fall semester.

CS 30000 – CS 49000:

Declared CS minors, MACS major or IMCS major, you will be granted access the Friday before classes begin if space is available.

Closed section (full section) overrides requests will be available for CS 34800, 37300, 38100 and 44800. 

CS Graduate Courses

Declared MACS majors interested in 500 level courses may request a level override. You will be granted access the Friday before classes begin if space is available.

If you have questions about pre-requisites or co-requisites, please contact your academic advisor

Instructor's Permission:

If Instructor Permission is required for a course, obtain a Form 23 from your academic advising office, fill in the needed information and bring it to the instructor for a signature. You should bring completed forms to the Registrar’s Office in Hovde Hall. Note that a properly signed form will NOT be honored if the course is full.

Program error:

Students who are not CS/DS majors trying to register for CS courses will receive a program error. For all CS courses, priority is given to CS/DS students. Second priority will be given to declared CS minors, MACS majors and IMCS majors. All other students may be given access before classes begin, if the course pre-requisites are met and space is available. Space for non CS majors or CS minors is VERY limited.
