Setting-up IMAP for Netscape and Mozilla Mail

Select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings from the Edit menu. Choose Add Account. This will launch the Account Wizard.


Choose Email account and then select Next.


Enter your CS username and email address. Choose Next.


Select IMAP and then enter the name of your incoming mail server.
Your outgoing mail server should be: smtp.purdue.edu
Choose Next.


Your username will appear in the box. No changes should be necessary, but you should make sure that it is your ITaP username that is in the field. Choose Next.


Your account name will appear in the box. You can make this anything that you want but no changes are necessary. Choose Next.


The correct account information should appear on the summar page. If anything is incorrect, you can select Back to make any changes. Otherwise, select Finish.


Select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings from the Edit menu.


Highlight Server Settings on the left-hand side menu. Check Use secure connection (SSL). Click Ok.


Select Outgoing Server (SMTP) Settings on the left-hand side menu. Check Use name and password and make sure User Name: is your ITaP username. Then select Always under Use secure connection (SSL):. Click Ok.


Your email should now be properly configured and using SSL.
