Tektronix UGR Awards: Spring, Summer, Fall 2001
Tektronix is supporting the Undergraduate Research Initiative of the
Computer Science Department by sponsoring talented Computer Science Majors
in undergraduate CS research. Steve Sutton Product Engineering Manager
of Tektronix is the technical liaison for this research initiative.
For spring 2001 two CS majors will be selected for the Tektronix UG
Research award. These awards are for undergraduate CS majors currently
working/planning to work this semester with a CS faculty member on CS related
research projects. The selection will be based on
-
a one page research proposal submitted by the student and faculty advisor
team,
-
a one page resume of the student,
-
the nomination letter for student by the faculty advisor, and
-
the transcript of the student.
The research proposal should clearly outline the project and a plan for
the semester based on 10 to15 hr. a week of student's time.
The nomination letter should include faculty advisor's opinion on students
potential for this project.
Interested Juniors and Seniors in the Computer Science department with
GPA 3.0 or higher should apply by Thursday Feb. 15 with all documents listed
above to:

leave it in her mailbox in CS 164 (CS office).
Selected students will receive $7.00/hr - $9.00/hr stipend. They are
advised to participate in the SoS UG Research Day in April and at the end
of the semester present their work in a short seminar and write a short
technical report.
