MicroSoftLab

MicroSoftLab is the virtual laboratory created within the Softlab framework which represents the Micro-Electronics laboratory operated by Dr. Christos Takoudis in the School of Chemical Engineering.

  • The Computational Engineering Laboratory

  • Micro-Electronics

  • The Experimental Process

  • The Numerical Simulation Model

  • The Virtual Micro-Electronics Laboratory

There are two views of the process which are presented in the MicroSoftLab environment. The first is the view representing the physical laboratory instrumentation, the MicroLabView. The second is the view representing the computational or theoretical model of the physical process, the MicroPDEView.

The simulation of the computational model need not be separated from the physical instruments and the physical process that it represents. The MicroSoftLab view of the physical laboratory demonstrates that physical experimentation, numerical simulation, and the teaching of experimental methodology can all coexist within a single environment. In fact, these various facets of the physical laboratory view are linked together and interact with each other in exciting and important new ways.
