//ELLPACK Beta Release

The //ELLPACK system is currently available as a beta release in binary-only form. This version is available to a few sites by special agreement only. If you wish to beta-test our software, please contact the //ELLPACK Group at pellpack-beta@cs.purdue.edu. Since this is a beta release, we fully expect that there will be some problems, but we would appreciate your input and suggestions on impoving our software.

System Requirements

The hardware and software requirements for this release are:

  • SUN4 architecture, running
  • X Window System libraries, Copyright (C) 1994 X Consortium (The X Window Libraries are not needed for the static version of //ELLPACK.)
  • OSF/Motif libraries (version 2.0)
    (The OSF/Motif Libraries are not needed for the static version of //ELLPACK.)
  • TCL (version 7.4) & TK (version 4.0)
  • perl
  • f2c (for sun4-sos5 only)
  • Fortran77 compiler (for sun4-sos4)
  • SPARCWORKS SunPro Fortran and C compilers (version SC4.0 -- for sun4-sos5)
    • You can obtain TCL7.4/TK4.0, perl, maxima, and f2c from our public ftp directory. See the README file first.

    System Applicability

    This release allows the user to execute:

  • a sequential program on a SUN4-SOS4 machine
  • a sequential program on a SUN4-SOS5 machine
  • a parallel program on:
