Bio: Dr. Daisuke Kasamatsu is currently Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana and in the Department of Computer Science at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan. From 2009 to 2012, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems Science, Faculty of Engineering, Soka University, Tokyo, Japan. He received Ph.D., M.E. and B.E. degrees in Information Systems Science from Soka University in 2009, 2006, and 2004, respectively. He has been engaged in the research and development of theory and design of Resilient System Based on Opportunistic Resource Utilization Systems for Emergency Rescue and Recovery Operations. He received the Best Paper Award from the IARIA International Conference on Software Engineering Advances (ICSEA 2006), the Fellowship Grant from the Telecommunications Advancement Foundation in Japan in October 2011, and a Travel Grant from the 31st IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS 2011). He is a member of IEEE Communications Society, IEEE Computer Society, ACM and the Institute of Electronics, Information, and Communication Engineers (IEICE) in Japan.
Research Interests: Resilient Systems-with focus on Opportunistic Resource Utilization Systems (Oppsyses) for Emergency Rescue and Recovery Operations; Theory, Method and Tool-with focus on Graph Theory, Algorithm for Software Development, Emulator, Simulator and Testbed.
