Teachers interested in learning how computer science and mathematical concepts relate and how to use computers to enrich current classroom content are encouraged to attend this 3-day workshop. It will be held July 14-17, 2008 in the state-of-the-art Lawson Computer Science Building at Purdue University, West Lafayette. The daily sessions will run from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm with all meals provided each day for participants. The Linking Mathematics and Computer Science Workshop will give teachers the opportunity to work with other teachers. In teams they will work to conquer a similar desire to They will also gain valuable knowledge in topics such as algorithms, binary numbers, cryptography, logic circuits, and recursion. By becoming familiar with computer science concepts and how they relate to mathematics, teachers can integrate what they have learned in their secondary school curriculum. For registration information go to www.cs.purdue.edu/outreach and select "teacher programs," or call Mindy Hart at 765-494-7802 or 800-320-6132. |
