CS490T Advanced Tablet Platform Applications Teacher: Gustavo Rodriguez-Rivera In this course we will write applications that use the unique features of the Tablet PC. We will learn the Tablet PC SDK, the .NET development environment, and some of the projects will use Macromedia Flash and windows sockets. The students will borrow a tablet PC from the department to be used during the semester for the course. The class will be conducted more like an independent study since the students will be working on their own projects during the semester. However, the entire class will meet at least once a week to have a progress report and to have presentations of the tools used. Since the course is limited to 18 students we have the following requirements: a) You need to have taken cs354 and the grade was an "A" or "B". b) You have a strong programming background and that you are willing to learn the necessary tools by yourself. c) You are a CS student. If you meet these requirements and want to take this course, send an e-mail to grr@cs.purdue.edu with subject "CS490T" describing your programming experience. You may also suggest the kind of project you would like to work on. If the number of applicants exceeds 18 I will choose the students who I consider will be the best suited for the course. If you want more information about the course go to: http://www.cs.purdue.edu/homes/cs490t where you will find descriptions of previous projects. 2005.03.08
