The NSF REU Program in Medical Informatics
(MedIX) at
Summer Support for Each Student:
· $4,000 stipend (paid a weekly stipend of $400 for each of the 10 weeks),

Statistics on the previous REU MedIX Program (2005-2007):
•88% students had at least one research publication
•over 23 publications (1 journal paper, 15 conference papers, 8 extended abstracts)
•3 honor theses and senior projects, 4 fellowships to support graduate school, and 1 Computing Research (CRA) honor mention for outstanding undergraduate research.

Computer Security Research Experience for Undergraduates in Science and Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park
We’re looking for Computer Security Scholars for the 2008 summer research experience for undergraduates (REU) program at the University of Maryland, College Park.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: March 1, 2008
The Women in Engineering Program at the University of Maryland is seeking applications for Scholars to become integral members of 5 team-based research projects in computer security coordinated by faculty in the A. James Clark School of Engineering. Students majoring in engineering, computer science, math, and physical science are strongly encouraged to apply.
Teams conduct research from May 27 through August 1, 2008. The program offers multiple tiers of mentorship and training in team skills and project organization, as well as addressing issues of concern to women in science and engineering. Each Scholar receives a $4,000 stipend, $300 food allowance and housing. Funding is available for transportation.

Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program from June 5 - August 1, 2008.
Over the 8-week summer research experience, twelve undergraduate students will be exposed to faculty, graduate students, research staff, and other undergraduate students in a developing community that incorporates research activities with field trips, workshops, or other social activities. Several projects are available in a wide range of areas within Electrical & Computer Engineering.

is pleased to announce the commencement of our Research Experiences for
Undergraduates (REU) site.
The REU site program is a summer internship program sponsored by the National
Science Foundation (NSF) for motivated undergraduate students. Students accepted
to the program will work on research projects with faculty at the USC's Computer
Science department.
Research projects are available in diverse areas within Computer Science
spanning software engineering, algorithms, networks, robotics, and artificial
intelligence. There will also be programs in professional ethics and a social
program specifically designed for the REU site participants.
We welcome students from all backgrounds; we are particularly interested in
attracting students with strong research potential who are traditionally
underrepresented in graduate school within Computer Science and related fields.
