CAPS strives to enhance your psychological health and personal effectiveness, thus empowering you to maximize your personal adjustment and individual accomplishments. In providing services, the staff attends to remedial, developmental, and situational concerns, recognizing that the interaction between the stress of the academic environment and your individual level of development can lead to problems that can be alleviated through counseling. CAPS works together with the university community to create an environment that assists you in understanding and responding to challenges and opportunities in a way that enhances your personal and academic development.

Counselors in the Office of the Dean of Students provide confidential assistance for you when you need help in understanding yourself, in making adjustments and decisions based on insight gained in a counseling relationship, in accepting responsibility for your choices, and in following a course of action to resolve the smallest or largest of problems, whether academic or personal in nature. Counselors are available on a drop in or appointment basis.
Other services include:
v Emergency loan program, students may borrow up to $300 for academic purposes, payable in 30 days.
v Administrative services: withdrawals, absence policy, tutor lists, grade appeals, conduct issues, information about University policy & procedures.

The Counseling and Guidance Center is the counseling service and training facility for the College of Education on the Purdue University campus. Since 1953, the Counseling and Guidance Center has been assisting people with a variety of educational, career, and personal problems. This service is open to students and the general public. No charge for appointments; there may be a small charge for career testing.

Purdue Individual, Couple and Family Therapy Clinic (PICFTC) of Purdue University’s Department of Child Development and Family Studies is part of the doctoral training program in
marriage and family therapy. The Clinic is staffed by supervised graduate student therapists specializing in individual, couple and family therapy, many with years of experience. Fees
Full or part-time students are entitled to the following pre-paid services:
· Unlimited number of visits to Student Health Center clinic providers
· Limited number of consultations with staff in our Counseling and Psychological Services unit
· Nutrition consultation with a registered dietitian
· Health education services provided by Student Wellness Office
Fees will be incurred for these services:
· Urgent Care services
· Minor procedures
· Medications and supplies
· Allergy and immunization services
· X-rays
· Laboratory tests
· Physical therapy
Some of these fees may be covered in part or in full by a student's insurance plan.
