Nicholas C. Yannelis, studied Economics at the Athens School of Economics 
(Greece), London School of Economics (UK) and the University of Rochester 
(USA), where he obtained his PhD under Lionel W.  McKenzie. He is a 
Commerce Distinguished Alumni Professor of Economics at the University 
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Recently he has been a visiting Professor 
at the University of Paris 1, Pantheon-Sorbonne, University of Paris, 
Dauphine, Institute of Advanced Studies, Vienna, The University of Manchester, 
and the National University of Singapore. He is co-Editor of Economic Theory, 
associate Editor of the Journal of Mathematical Economics, Editor of Studies 
in Economic Theory and the President of the Society for the 
Advancement of Economic Theory.
