I received my BSc in Computer Science in 2008 from University of Tehran. Prior to joining Purdue in 2010, I participated in Robocup competitions, worked on designing and implementing parallel algorithms in both shared and distributed memory environments, and studied different problems in Computational Biology. As a PhD student, I now work under supervision of Professor Grama and Professor Szpankowski, mainly focusing on applications of statistical and computational methods for designing robust and efficient techniques for analyzing biological networks. Previously, I have worked on problems spanning areas of network alignment, motif detection and clustering. My current research is focused on developing computational methods and statistical models for understanding the aging process in baker’s yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and ultimately gain a better understanding of age-related pathologies in humans.
